Pickpocket respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and which choices you have when using the Pickpocket app and related services.

Pickpocket uses location data to provide location-based community safety features and alerts. Depending on the permissions and options you choose, this may include your precise current location, map position, saved alert addresses, and the notification radius configured in the app.
Background location is optional. If you explicitly enable “Location also in background” in your profile and grant the required device permission, Pickpocket may collect and process your location even when the app is closed or not in use. This keeps your current area updated as you move so that location-based community safety alerts can remain relevant to your actual location, including alerts about user-reported pickpocket activity near your current location.
Without background location, Pickpocket can use location while the app is in use, but your current area may not remain updated after you leave the app. You can disable background location at any time from your Pickpocket profile or through your device settings.
If you enable notifications, we may store a push token and related installation data in order to deliver service notifications and test notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in your device settings.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may store information about your subscription status to unlock paid features and manage restores.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the app, such as cloud hosting, authentication, database, storage, analytics, and notification services, only as necessary to provide the service.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize data as required, except where retention is legally necessary.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also request account deletion from inside the app where available.
Pickpocket is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate authorization.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown at the top of this page.
